오늘은 캐나다 벤쿠버에 갔을 때 이용했던 '이그제큐티브 호텔 에어포트' 경험을 기록합니다.

Hello, this is a Snowman Hotel Review.

Today, I will be documenting my experience at the 'Executive Hotel Airport' in Vancouver, Canada.

 

 

캐나다 벤쿠버에서 살고 있는 지인을 만나려구요. 
지인이 살고 있는 곳은 '마린 드라이브 역'근처였고, 내가 머무는 숙소는 '리치몬드 브릭 하우스 역' 근처였습니다.
하늘색 캐나다 라인이었는데 갈아타지 않아도 되어서 편리했어요. 
캐나다 벤쿠버는 스카이라인 트레인이 잘 되어 있어서 우버 탈 일이 별로 없는 곳이었어요!!!!
벤쿠버에서 숙소 잡을때 스카이라인 트레인 역 근처로 잡으세요 ~그러면 편리함 두배가 됩니다. 
왜냐면 시내, 아울렛 갈때 우버 안타고 트레인 타고 다녔더니 확실히 경비 절감이 됩니다. 

저는 왠만해선 해외에서 대중교통 잘 되어 있으면 우버안타고 대중교통 타려고 해요. 

 

I am going to meet a friend who lives in Vancouver, Canada.

My friend lives near 'Marine Drive Station,' and my accommodation was near 'Richmond Brighouse Station.'

It was convenient because I didn't have to transfer on the SkyTrain's Canada Line, which is light blue.

Vancouver's SkyTrain system is well-developed, so there's rarely a need to take an Uber!

When booking accommodations in Vancouver, make sure to choose a place near a SkyTrain station—this will double the convenience. I used the SkyTrain to get to downtown and the outlets from my hotel without needing to take an Uber.

Having well-developed public transportation abroad certainly helps save on costs as you don't have to rely on Uber.

 

 

 

'리치몬드 브릭하우스 역'에서 내려서 걸으면 '이그제큐티브 호텔 에어포트'가 나옵니다. 

역에서 도보로 10분 정도 이동한 것 같애요.  
오다보니 이 동네는 아시아인...특히 중국인이 많았어요. 

If you get off at 'Richmond Brighouse Station' and walk, you will find the Executive Hotel Airport.

It took about 10 minutes on foot from the station. As I walked, I noticed that there were many Asians in this area, especially Chinese people.

 

호텔 로비는 이렇게 생겼고, 한쪽에는 Free bird table이라는 레스토랑이 있습니다. 
그런데 체크인 하고 밖으로 나가 다른 건물로 가라고 하네요...;;;

알고 봤더니 호텔 외부에 낮은 건물이 하나 더 있는데 그 건물에 있는 룸이랍니다. 

 

The hotel lobby looks like this, and there is a restaurant called Freebird Table on one side.

However, after checking in, they told me to go outside to another building... ;;;

It turns out there is a low-rise building outside the hotel, and my room was in that building.

 

 

호텔 밖으로 나가 옆에 있는 이층짜리 낮은 건물로 갑니다.

룸키를 갖다대면 건물 현관문이 열리는 시스템이었습니다.

허름해 보였는데... 나름 아무나 들어갈 수는 없게 되어 있네요. 

이 호텔은 복잡하게 시설이 여기저기 분산되어 있습니다. 그래서 안내표시를 잘 보고 가야해요. 

 

I went outside the hotel to a two-story low-rise building next to it.

The building's entrance door opens when you tap your room key.

It looked a bit shabby, but it is secure and not just anyone can enter.

This hotel has its facilities scattered around, so you need to carefully follow the signs.

 

 

방으로 들어갔는데 생각보다 넓어서 깜짝 놀랬어요.
거실같은 공간에 쇼파와 바 테이블이 있었고, 안쪽에는 침대가 있습니다. 

침대가 높아서 앉을때마다 펄쩍 뛰올라갔네요 ㅎㅎ
방 공간이 우선 넓어서 답답하지 않았어요. 
들어올 때 호텔 건물이 너무 허름해서 의심했었는데 생각보다 넓은 공간에 안심이 되었습니다. 

 

I entered the room and was surprised by how spacious it was.

There was a living room-like area with a sofa and a bar table, and the bed was in the inner part of the room.

The bed was so high that I had to hop up onto it each time, haha.

The room was spacious, so it didn't feel cramped at all. When I first arrived, I was skeptical because the hotel building looked so shabby, but the spacious room put me at ease.

 

 

그런데 침대 헤드 상태를 봤는데...

베개로 교묘하게 가려 놓았지만 이 호텔의 연식을 느끼게 해 줍니다. 가죽이 다 떨어졌네요. 

 

However, when I looked at the bed's headboard, I could see its condition...

The pillows cleverly covered it, but it revealed the hotel's age. The leather was all worn out.

 

 

옷장 안을 열어보니, 여분의 베개랑 다리미가 있었습니다. 

그런데 슬리퍼는 없으니 챙겨오세요. 

항상 느끼는데 전세계를 다녀봤지만~~ 미국과 캐나다에 있는 호텔 이용시 슬리퍼 서비스가 없다는 걸 깨달았어요. 

미국과 캐나다는 일반적으로 실내에서 신발을 벗는 문화가 없어서 그런가봐요. 

When I opened the closet, I found extra pillows and an iron.

However, there were no slippers, so make sure to bring your own.

I've always noticed this, but after traveling around the world, I realized that hotels in the U.S. and Canada don't usually provide slippers.

Perhaps it's because there's generally not a culture of taking off shoes indoors in the United States and Canada.

 

 

창밖은 공원 뷰 였는데, 소음이 상당해요. 진짜 시끄럽습니다. 
호텔방이 2층이라 이 공원에서 사람들이 담소 나누고 아이들이 노는 소리 심지어 여기 담배피러 나오는 사람들도 있었어요... 푹 쉬어야할 숙소 환경으로는 쾌적하지 않더라구요.
구글에서 리뷰 보니까 4성급 호텔이라고 하던데;;; 심지어 쥐가 나왔다고 합니다..!!!

그래서 개인적으로 이 호텔은 추천하지 않습니다..

The view outside the window was of a park, but the noise was quite significant. Since the hotel room was on the second floor, I could hear people chatting and children playing loudly in the park. There were even people smoking outside, which made the environment less pleasant.

I read reviews on Google claiming it was a 4-star hotel, but personally, I wouldn't recommend it.

There were even reports of mice coming into the room!!!

 

 

무료 물 두병, 냉장고, 전자레인지, 커피머신, 커피포트, 토스트기, 컵과 접시가 있었어요.

싱크대도 있고 나름 레지던스형 호텔입니다. 

그런데 언제 썻는지도 모를... 저 토스트기랑 그릇이 싱크대 배관 아래 깊숙히 놓여 있어요. 

보니까 먼지가 자욱히 쌓여있어서 사용할 엄두도 안나고 손도 안댔습니다. 

4성급 호텔은 누가 정한건지....전세계 호텔 다녀보면 별 갯수랑 안 맞는 곳이 허다합니다.

( 3성급인데 생각보다 너무 좋은 곳도 있고, 4성급인데 안 좋은 곳도 봤네요. )

다시한번 전세계 호텔 몇성급인지 구글 리뷰를 토대로 재정비 해야할 것 같네요. ㅎㅎ

 

There were two free bottles of water, a refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, coffee pot, toaster, cups, and plates available. There was even a kitchen sink, making it somewhat like a residential-style hotel.

However, underneath the sink, there were a toaster and dishes covered in dust, seemingly untouched for who knows how long. Seeing this, I didn't dare to use them or even touch them.

Who decides which hotel gets how many stars anyway? Traveling around the world, I've seen many places where the star rating doesn't quite match up. There are 3-star hotels that are surprisingly nice and 4-star hotels that are disappointing.

Maybe it's time to reconsider how we rate hotels globally, based on Google reviews again.

 

 

화장실 뭐 평범해요. 이용 시 큰 불편 없었습니다. 
The bathroom was ordinary. I didn't encounter any major inconveniences during use.

 

같은 건물 1층에 수영장을 구경하러 갔어요. 천장으로 자연채광이 들어오는 수영장이었습니다.
운영시간은 밤 10시 까지이고, 출입할때는 호텔 카드키를 찍어야 문이 오픈됩니다. 
이곳은 1층이 지나가는 사람들도 다 볼 수 있는 구조였어요.

뭔가 프라이빗한 수영장이 아닌 공개된 느낌의 수영장이라고 생각하시면 됩니다. 
물은 깨끗해 보였어요. 

"I went to see the swimming pool on the first floor of the same building. It was a swimming pool with natural lighting coming through the ceiling.

To enter, you need to swipe your hotel key card to open the door. This pool is on the first floor and has a layout where passersby can see inside.

It felt more like a public pool than a private one. The water looked clean.

 

 

호텔 헬스장은 체크인했던 높은 건물 8층에 있습니다.

보통 수영장과 헬스장은 비슷한 위치에 있던데... 여기는 각각 다른 건물로 분산되어 있어요. 

 

The hotel gym is located in the tall building where I checked in.

Usually, swimming pools and gyms are located close to each other, but here they are scattered across different buildings.

 

 

헬스장 규모가 엄청 작고 좁아요. 방 하나에 헬스기구 가져다 놓은 정도였습니다.
만약 여기서 운동하고 있는데 ... 누구 한 명 들어오면 민망해질 정도의 공간입니다. 

The hotel gym is incredibly small and cramped.

It's like they squeezed in a few pieces of gym equipment into a single room.

If I'm working out here, but it's such a tight space that it would be awkward if even one more person came in.

 

 

8층 스카이뷰 야외공간에 나와봤는데 딱히 볼 건 없습니다.

I went out to the 8th-floor sky view outdoor space, but there isn't much to see.

 

호텔 근처에 큰 쇼핑몰이 있어서 가봤어요.  위치는 '리치몬드 브릭 하우스 역' 앞에 있습니다. 

캐나다에서 먹어봐야할 음식 A&W 햄버거 가게가 있다고 해서 일부러 찾아가봤어요. 

햄버거 이름이 특이해요ㅋㅋㅋ 엄마버거, 아빠버거, 할아버지버거, 삼촌버거.

고기패티 갯수에 따라 엄마> 아빠 > 할아버지가 됩니다. 

그런데 이곳은 주력 메뉴가 햄버거가 아닌 루트비어 음료수 라고 하네요 !!!!
햄버거 가게인데 주력 메뉴가 음료수?!!! 뭔가 신박하다.
이름만 루트비어지 알콜 없는 음료수입니다.

마셔봤는데 처음 경험해보는 맛이었고 뭔가 설명하기 힘든 오묘한 맛의 탄산음료수에요.

호불호가 갈린다고 하는데 처음 경험해보는 것 치고는 나름 괜찮았음. 

엄마버거,루트비어, 푸틴( 치즈 올라간 감자튀김) 시켰어요. 
아!! 이곳은 주력메뉴인 루트비어 마시러 와서~~ 같이 먹을 사이드로 햄버거랑 감자튀김을 먹는 느낌이네요~~!!!

There's a big shopping mall near the hotel, located in front of 'Richmond Brighouse Station.'

I heard there's an A&W burger shop that you must try in Canada, so I purposely went to find it.

The names of the burgers are quite unique, haha!

There's the Mom Burger, Dad Burger, Grandpa Burger, and Uncle Burger.

The number of meat patties increases from Mom > Dad > Grandpa.

However, the standout menu item here isn't the burgers but their root beer drink!!! It's a burger joint, but their main feature is a soft drink?!!! It's something novel. The drink is called root beer, a non-alcoholic beverage.

I tried it, and it was a taste I've never experienced before—a subtle and unique flavor of carbonated drink that's hard to describe.

People's preferences vary, but for a first-time experience, it was quite good.

I ordered the Mom Burger, root beer, and poutine (fries topped with cheese). Oh! It feels like coming here to enjoy their main feature, root beer, and having burgers and fries as sides!

 

 

호텔 근처에 어린이집이 있어서 쇼핑몰 오갈 때 등하원 하는 모습을 볼 수 있었어요. 

이 동네는 관광지가 아니라 아이들이  많고 현지인이 사는 동네였네요. 

There was a daycare near the hotel, so I could see children going to and from school when I went to the shopping mall.

This neighborhood isn't a tourist destination; it's a place where there are many children and locals live.

 

 

벤쿠버에서 스카이라인 트레인은 타본 후기는 매우 쾌적하고 좋았습니다.
무인 열차 시스템이었고, 맨 앞이나 맨 뒤에서 보면 놀이공원 열차 타는것 처럼 재밌어요. 
참고로 이그제큐티브 호텔에서 '맥아더글랜 아울렛' 가까워요.

호텔에서 아울렛 갈때는 3불이었는데!! 아울렛에서 호텔 돌아올때는 8불입니다. 잉??!!!!!

황당해서 왜그런가 알아봤더니, 아울렛은 공항 근처라 대중교통 탈 때 공항세가 붙는다고 합니다. 

아무튼 아울렛 갈 때와 올때의 가격이 다릅니다. 당황하지 마세요. 

 

In Vancouver, riding the SkyTrain was a very pleasant experience. It's an automated train system, and sitting at the front or back feels like riding a roller coaster—it's quite fun.

By the way, the McArthurGlen Outlet is close to the Executive Hotel.

It cost $3 to go from the hotel to the outlet, but coming back from the outlet to the hotel was $8. Huh??!!!

I was puzzled, so I looked into it. Apparently, because the outlet is near the airport, there's an airport fee when using public transportation.

Anyway, the fare is different when going to and coming back from the outlet. Don't be surprised!
