눈사람호텔리뷰가 이번에는 '킴튼 마고 시드니 호텔' 다녀온 경험을 기록합니다. 
킴튼 시드니 IHG 호텔이라고도 부릅니다. 
 
Snowman Hotel Review is documenting the experience of staying at 'Kimpton Margot Sydney Hotel' this time.
Also known as the Kimpton Sydney an IHG Hotel, it is referred to by this name.
 

 

 
호텔 입구 들어설 때 자동문이 양쪽으로 활짝 열리거든요.
마치 두팔 벌려 환영해주는 느낌을 받았습니다. 
 
When entering the hotel entrance, the automatic doors open wide on both sides, giving the feeling as if they are welcoming me with open arms.
 

 
호텔 첫인상인 로비가 너무 아름다웠고 은은한 좋은 향기가 나는 곳이었어요. 
 
The lobby, which is the first impression of the hotel, was incredibly beautiful and exuded a subtle, pleasant fragrance.
 

 
웰컴 기프트로 너무 귀여운 '오리너구리 인형' 선물로 주셨어요!!
안그래도 시드니 여행하면서 기념품샵에서 코알라, 캥거루, 오리너구리 인형 중에서 하나 사려고 했었는데, 여행내내 함께 시간을 보냈던 이 오리너구리 인형이 아이에겐 너무 유용한 선물이었어요.

 
They gave us the cutest 'platypus toy' as a welcome gift!!
We were already planning to buy one of the souvenirs - a koala, kangaroo, or duck-billed platypus plush toy - from the souvenir shop during our trip to Sydney. This duck-billed platypus plush toy, which spent time with us throughout the trip, turned out to be such a useful gift for our child.
 

 
체크인 하고 방으로 들어가는데 복도가 보통 호텔보다 넓은 걸 느낄 수 있었어요. 
 
When checking in and entering the room, I could feel that the corridor was wider than usual hotels.
 

 
방으로 들어왔는데 깔끔하고 방 사이즈가 크고 괜찮았어요. 
이곳이  '아르데코 컨셉' 호텔 이라 곳곳에서 장식미술을 많이 볼 수 있어요. 
아르데코는 고전주의적인 디자인과 현대적인 요소를 결합하여 화려한 느낌을 만들어 내는 방식이래요.
기하학적인 모양, 질서 정연한 패턴, 금속, 유리, 석재와 같은 현대적인 소재를 사용하는 특징이 있고 화려하고 대담한 색상을 사용하는 방식이라고 합니다. 
 
When I entered the room, I found it clean and spacious, which was quite nice. This place is an 'Art Deco-themed' hotel, so you can see a lot of decorative art throughout.
Art Deco is a style that combines classical design with modern elements to create a glamorous feeling. It's characterized by geometric shapes, intricate patterns, and the use of modern materials like metal, glass, and stone. It's also known for its bold and vibrant color schemes.
 

 
창 밖으로는 맞은편 호텔 복도가 보이네요. 
이 호텔 이용하려면 뷰는 포기해야해요.
왜냐면 호텔 건물 자체가 높지 않고 양쪽에 큰 빌딩 사이에 있어서 어느 방이든 탁 트인 뷰는 없어보여요.  
 
"It looks like the view outside shows the corridor of the opposite hotel. If you're staying at this hotel, you might have to give up on the view because the hotel building itself isn't tall, and it's situated between two large buildings. Therefore, it seems like there isn't any room with an expansive view.
 

 
작은 사이즈 물 2병 무료였고, 테이블 위에 체스판이 놓여있었어요. 
 
Two small bottles of water were complimentary, and there was a chessboard on the table.
 

 
 
그리고 네스프레소 커피 캡슐, 차 5 종류, 핫초코 이용 가능해요 (무료) 
미니 냉장고 안에 음료가 있어요 (이건 유료 )
 
Additionally, Nespresso coffee capsules, five varieties of tea, and hot chocolate are available for use (complimentary).
There are beverages available in the mini-fridge (these are at an additional cost)
 

 
호텔 어메니티, 헤어 드라이어, 다리미, 요가 매트, 슬리퍼 가 있어요. 
직원한테 애기는 해 놨는데 여기 헤어 드라이기 사용할 때 주의해야 해요. 
긴 머리일 경우 드라이기에 머리카락이 딸려 들어가더라구요. 엄청 위험했어요.
이 호텔 이용하는 동안 헤어드라이기에 머리카락 엉킨 경험을 두세번 했답니다. 
부디 조속히 헤어드라이기 교체를 해 놨길 바래요. 
 

The hotel amenities include a hairdryer, iron, yoga mat, and slippers. I mentioned this to the staff, but I wanted to emphasize the importance of being careful when using the hairdryer here.
For individuals with long hair, there's a risk of hair getting tangled inside the hairdryer. It was quite dangerous. I experienced my hair getting tangled in the hairdryer two or three times during my stay at this hotel.
I sincerely hope that they promptly replace the hairdryers.
 

 
화장실 사이즈가 엄청 넓어요. 거의 방 사이즈 만했어요. 
킴튼 마고 시드니 호텔이 기본적으로 다 널찍한 편이네요. (로비, 복도, 룸, 화장실 등등 ) 
걸려있는 샤워가운은 디자이너 작품 이래요. 
 
The bathroom size is incredibly spacious, almost the size of a room itself. The Kimpton Margot Sydney Hotel seems to be generally quite spacious throughout, including the lobby, corridors, rooms, bathrooms, and so on.
The bathrobe hanging in the bathroom is said to be a designer piece.
 

그리고 심신의 안정을 돕는 식물 화분 서비스도 있어요.
터치 패드로 룸서비스 주문 가능하고, 전반적으로 호텔 서비스에 대해서 요약해 놔서 정보 확인 가능했어요. 
킴튼 마고 시드니 호텔이 위치가 정말 좋아요.
중심업무단지 한 가운데 있어서 밖에만 나가도 주변에 맛집이 너무너무 많아요. 
그래서 이 호텔 이용하는 동안 룸서비스 필요성을 못 느꼈어요. 
 
Furthermore, there is a plant pot service aimed at providing mental tranquility.
You can also order room service via the touchpad, and overall, the hotel services were summarized for easy reference. The location of the Kimpton Margot Sydney Hotel is truly excellent. Situated right in the heart of the central business district, there are so many amazing restaurants nearby that you won't even feel the need for room service during your stay.
 

 
매일 오후 5시~6시에는 '소셜 아워 타임'으로 와인파티를 합니다. 
무료로 마실 수 있는 레드와인, 화이트와인, 샴페인, 스파클링와인, 샹그리아를 마시면서 자유롭게 사교모임을 할 수 있어요. 한 사람당 두잔까지 주는 것 같았습니다. 
저도 와인을 받아들고 사교모임 한 가운데 한번 앉아봤어요. 
한국 사람은 보이지를 않고 전부 외국인이라 사교모임 할때 영어는 필수 입니다. ㅎㅎㅎ
비록 사람들과 많은 대화를 하지는 못했지만 이런 파티 문화가 신기해서 한번 경험해보고 싶었어요. 
 
Every day from 5 PM to 6 PM, they host a 'Social Hour' with a wine party. You can freely mingle while enjoying complimentary red wine, white wine, champagne, sparkling wine, and sangria. It seemed like they served up to two glasses per person.
I also joined the gathering once and grabbed a glass of wine. Interestingly, I didn't see any Koreans there, only foreigners, so speaking English was a must for socializing. Even though I didn't engage in many conversations, experiencing this party culture was something I wanted to try.
 

 
첫날엔 레드와인, 다음날에는 샹그리아를 마셨어요.
샹그리아가 풍부한 과일향이 나는 게 정말 좋았습니다. 
킴튼 마고 시드니 호텔 로비가 참 아름다운데, 이곳을 바라보며 마시는 와인 한잔은 잊지 못할 것 같애요. 
뭔가 세련되고 힙한 곳이에요 여기..
 
On the first day, I had red wine, and on the following day, I enjoyed some sangria.
I particularly liked the rich fruity aroma of the sangria.
The lobby of the Kimpton Margot Sydney Hotel is truly stunning, and enjoying a glass of wine while overlooking this place is an experience I won't forget. There's something sophisticated and hip about this place.
 

 
호텔 루프탑에 수영장 구경하러 갔어요. 그런데 수영장 규모가 생각보다 엄청 작아요.
사진상 보이는 느낌보다 실제로 보면 더 작은 느낌이에요. 
수영장 바로 앞에 레스토랑이 있는데, 이 레스토랑은 호텔 투숙객 아니어도 누구나 이용 가능한 레스토랑이었어요.
솔직히 ㅋㅋ 바로 앞에서 식사하고 계신데 뭔가 수영하기 민망한 분위기였어요.
시드니는 여름인데도 날씨가 선선해서 사실상 추워서 수영장 이용을 못했어요. 
 
I went up to the hotel rooftop to check out the swimming pool, but it turned out to be much smaller than I had imagined. In reality, it felt even smaller than it looked in the pictures.
Right in front of the pool, there's a restaurant that's open to everyone, not just hotel guests. It felt a bit awkward to swim with people dining right in front of you.
Even though it's summer in Sydney, the weather was surprisingly cool, so I couldn't really use the pool.
 

 

 
그리고 지하로 내려가면 요가 스튜디오랑 헬스장이 있어요. 
요가매트는 방에서 봤던 요가매트랑 같은 제품이었어요.
요가 할때 방에서 하거나 이곳 요가 스튜디오를 이용하면 될 것 같애요.
 
Additionally, there's a yoga studio and a gym located underground.
The yoga mats were the same as the ones I saw in the room. So, whether doing yoga in the room or utilizing the yoga studio here, it seems convenient either way.
 

 
그 유명한 펠로톤 바이크가 있길래 한번 타봤더니 재밌더라구요. 
강사가 진행하는 화면을 보면서 운동을 하던지, 숲속 로드를 따라 자전거를 타는 기분을 느끼게 해주기도 하고, 
아이디로 입장한 같이 운동하는 사람들끼리 실시간으로 소통할 수 있어서 운동할 때 심심하지 않았어요. 

 
I tried the famous Peloton bike once, and it was really fun. You can either follow along with the instructor on the screen, feeling like you're cycling through a forest or communicate in real-time with others exercising together using their usernames. It made the workout less boring.
 

 
그리고 다음 날 조식 먹으러 왔어요.
보통 호텔 조식은 뷔페인 경우가 많은데, 이 곳은 뷔페가 아니라 a la carte 단품으로 나온대요.
전세계 수많은 호텔을 이용해 봤지만 이런 경험은 처음이라 엄청 기대가 되었어요. 
다시 한번 느끼지만 이 호텔 정말 힙한데?!! 뭔가 컨셉이 독보적이고 멋진 곳이라는 생각이 들어요. 
"a la carte"는 프랑스어로 고객이 원하는 음식이나 음료를 메뉴에서 선택하여 따로 주문하는 것을 말합니다.
 
I came for breakfast the next day. Typically, hotel breakfasts are buffet-style, but here, it's not a buffet; it's a la carte.
I've stayed in many hotels around the world, but this experience was a first for me, so I was really excited. I have to say once again, this hotel is so hip?! It's like something out of a concept and it's really cool.
'a la carte' is a French term that means customers choose individual items from the menu and order them separately.
 

 
 
원래는 흰색 메뉴판에서 메뉴를 골라야 하는데,  IHG 다이아몬드 등급이라서 노란색 메뉴 중에서 고를 수 있다고 했어요.  
노랑 메뉴판 중에서 '밀크 팬케이크'랑 '코코넛 망고 브래드'를 주문했습니다. 
그런데 지금 보니까 메뉴를 업그레이드 해줬는데 이왕이면 하얀색 메뉴와 안 겹치는 메뉴를 골랐어야 했어요. 
왜 이걸 지금 알았을까요;; 
노란색 메뉴판에 하얀 메뉴판과 겹치는 메뉴를 형광펜으로 체크를 해 보았어요.
(코코넛 망고 브레드, 베이컨 앤 에그, 스카치 에그) 3가지 메뉴가 겹치는데 이 메뉴를 제외하고 시켜야 업그레이드 된 메뉴를 먹을 수 있는 거였네요. 
 

I was told that as an IHG Diamond member, I could choose from the yellow menu instead of the white menu. So, I ordered the 'Milk Pancake' and 'Coconut Mango Bread' from the yellow menu.

But now I realize they upgraded the menu, and I should have chosen items that don't overlap with the white menu. Why didn't I realize this sooner?!

I took a highlighter and marked the items on the yellow menu that overlap with the white menu ('Coconut Mango Bread,' 'Bacon and Egg,' 'Scotch Egg'). I should have ordered items excluding these to enjoy the upgraded menu.

 

 

 
주문하면 주스와 커피가 먼저 나오고, 그 다음에 과일과 패스츄리가 제공됩니다.
커피는 원하는 종류를 요청하면 뭐든지 만들어 줄 수 있다고 했어요. 
작은 유리잔에 오렌지 주스는 기본으로 나오는 것 같앴고 크렌베리 주스와 플랫화이트 시켰습니다. 
 
When ordering, juice and coffee are served first, followed by fruit and pastries. They mentioned that they can make any type of coffee you request. It seemed like orange juice comes as a default in a small glass, and I ordered cranberry juice and a flat white.
 

 
그리고 나온 메인 요리 ' 딸기 블루베리 팬케이크' 와 '코코넛 망고 브래드'가 나왔어요.
팬케이크 꼭 드세요!! 정말 강추입니다. 
두개 메뉴 중 코코넛 망고 브래드 보다는 이 팬케이크가 훨씬 맛있었어요. 
호주 여행 오면 먹어야할 음식 팬케이크.. 여기로 사 먹으러 와도 될 정도에요. 
 
And then came the main dishes, 'pancakes' and 'coconut mango bread.'
You must try the pancakes!! It's highly recommended.
Between the two dishes, the pancakes were much tastier than the coconut mango bread.
Pancakes are a must-try food when traveling in Australia... They're so good here that it's worth coming just to have them.
 

 
그리고 코코넛 망고 브래드는 약간 퍼석퍼석한 당근케이크 같은 맛이었어요.
먹다보니 망고가 어딨어? 아무리 찾아도 망고는 안보이고 맨 위에는 만다린이 올라가 있어요. 
코코넛과 망고는 잘게 갈아서 빵 옆에 장식해 놓은 것으로 보입니다. 
망고 브래드 시켰는데 망고가 어딨냐고 오해하는 사람이 있을 수 있어요.
개인적으로는 메뉴명을 바꾸는게 더 좋을 것 같애요. 
 
The coconut mango bread had a slightly mushy texture, similar to carrot cake.
As I kept eating, I wondered, 'Where's the mango?' No matter how much I looked, I couldn't see any mango, but there were slices of mandarin on top.
It seems like the coconut and mango were finely crushed and decorated next to the bread.
While I ordered mango bread, it's possible for people to misunderstand and wonder where the mango is.
Personally, I think it would be better to change the menu name.
 

 
조식 먹고 나와서 로비에서 차 한잔 해야겠어요. 
'모닝 퀵 스타트 서비스'가 있는데 아침 시간에 호텔 로비에서 자유롭게 차를 마실 수 있어요. 
무려 아홉가지의 차 티백과 홈메이드 피치 아이스티가 준비되어 있었습니다. 
이 아름다운 호텔 로비라운지를 투숙객들이 마음껏 이용할 수 있다는 점이 참 매력적으로 다가오더라구요. 
보통 다른 호텔 가면 로비라운지에서 차 한잔 시키려면 비싼 경우가 많잖아요.
이런면에서 킴튼 마고 호텔이 정말 힙하다고 생각됩니다. 
 
After breakfast, I feel like I should have a cup of tea in the lobby.
There's a 'Morning Quick Start Service' where guests can freely enjoy tea in the hotel lobby during breakfast hours.
They had a selection of nine tea bags and homemade peach iced tea available.
The fact that guests can freely use this beautiful hotel lobby lounge is really appealing.
Usually, in other hotels, ordering a cup of tea in the lobby lounge can be quite expensive.
I really think the Kimpton Margot Hotel is very hip.
 

 
피치 아이스티랑 로얄티를 마셔봤어요. 로얄티는 색감이 파란빛이었어요.
노란빛 (녹차) 붉은빛 (홍차) 차는 많이 마셔봤는데, 파란빛 차는 처음 마셔봐서 색달랐어요.
보통 블루티라고 불리는데 인디고 꽃의 천연 원료로 만들어 진다고 합니다. 
색감이 마치 바다색깔처럼 너무 예쁩니다. 
 
I tried peach iced tea and blue tea. The blue tea is made from natural ingredients like butterfly pea flower.
I've had green tea and black tea, which have yellow and red hues, but it was my first time trying blue tea, so the color was quite unique.
The color is so pretty, reminiscent of the color of the sea.
 

 
호텔 로비에 아르데코 컨셉의 장식미술이 많았고 흥미로운 재밌는 책이 많았어요. 
차 한잔 마시는 동안 흥미로운 책을 보니까 심심하지 않았습니다.
 

The hotel lobby featured a lot of Art Deco-themed artworks and there were many interesting and entertaining books available.

While sipping on a cup of tea, I found myself not feeling bored as I delved into these captivating books.

 

 

 

타보진 않았지만 호텔에서 LEKKER 자전거도 무료로 빌려주네요. 

킴튼 마고 시드니 호텔 근처에 퀸 빅토리아 빌딩 있어요. 걸어서 도보 4분 거리였어요. 
 
I haven't tried it myself, but the hotel also offers free rental of LEKKER bicycles.
The Queen Victoria Building is located near the Kimpton Margot Sydney Hotel, just a 4-minute walk away.
 

 
퀸 빅토리아 빌딩은 세계에서 가장 아름다운 쇼핑센터로 고전주의 로마네스크 건축양식으로 지어졌대요.
직접 가보니 곳곳에 스테인 글라스가 아름다운 곳이었어요. 
화장실 들어갔는데 세면대 옆 스테인 글라스 보고 우와~ 쇼핑몰 퀄리티가 다르다고 생각했어요. 
그리고 미녀와 야수 성에서 공주가 내려올 것 처럼 생긴 계단이 멋있었어요.  
 
The Queen Victoria Building is said to be one of the most beautiful shopping centers in the world, built in the classical Romanesque architectural style.
When I visited, I was amazed by the beautiful stained glass windows throughout the building.
As I entered the restroom, I was taken aback by the stained glass next to the sink and thought to myself, "Wow, the quality of this shopping mall is different."
Moreover, the staircase, reminiscent of the one where Belle descends in Beauty and the Beast, was quite impressive.
 

 
퀸 빅토리아 빌딩안은 구경할 거리가 참 많았어요.
수많은 오르골 중에 캥거루, 코알라, 오리너구리 있는 오르골이 제일 귀여웠어요.
그리고 시드니 여행 기념품으로 장만하기 좋은 소금 후추 병이에요.
캥거루와 코알라가 서로 포옹하고 있는 모습이 너무 마음에 들어서 하나 구매했어요.  
 
Inside the Queen Victoria Building, there was so much to see.
Among the many music boxes, the one with kangaroos, koalas, and platypuses was the cutest.
Also, there were salt and pepper shakers that would make perfect souvenirs from my trip to Sydney.
I especially liked the one where a kangaroo and a koala were hugging each other, so I bought one as a memento.
 

 
쇼핑센터 구경하다 보니 발견한 수박케이크 맛집이에요. 
수박케이크? 정말 독특하다고 해서 저도 한번 먹어봤습니다. 
케이크 상자가 좁고 길게 생겼는데, 주의할 점은 눕히면 안되고 세워서 열어야 해요. 
수박케이크라고 해서 수박으로 맛을 낸 잼인 줄 알았는데, 진짜 수박이 덩어리째 들어있는 케이크였어요. 
케이크 먹을 때 부드러운 식감을 생각하잖아요?! 그런데 이건 아삭아삭한 케이크 맛 ㅋㅋㅋ 
정말 독특하고 한번쯤 먹어보면 좋을 것 같은 디저트였어요.
수박에 수분이 많을텐데 케이크 시트에 수분이 안 닿게 한 아이디어도 기발하네요.
 
While exploring the shopping center, I stumbled upon a watermelon cake specialty shop.
Watermelon cake? It sounded so unique that I had to try it myself.
The cake box was narrow and long, and it was important to note that you shouldn't lay it down but open it standing up.
I thought a watermelon cake would be made with watermelon-flavored jam, but it turned out to be a cake with actual chunks of watermelon in it.
When you think of cake, you imagine a soft texture, right? But this one had a crisp texture of watermelon, haha!
It was truly unique and a dessert worth trying at least once.
The idea of keeping the cake sheet dry to prevent moisture from touching the watermelon, which is usually high in water content, was quite ingenious.
 

 
다음날 아침.
한국으로 출발하는 비행기가 너무 일찍이라 아침 조식을 먹지 못할 줄 알았는데, 사정을 애기하니 이렇게 아침 메뉴를 챙겨주셨어요! 세상에.. 이렇게 친절한 서비스를 받다니.. 너무 좋았어요! 
사실 단품 조식이 맛있어서 다른 메뉴도 한번 먹어보고 싶었는데 아쉬웠어요.
킴튼 마고 시드니 호텔에서의 숙박은 (뷰를 제외하고는) 만족스러운 경험이었습니다.
 
Next morning.
I thought I wouldn't be able to have breakfast due to the early departure for Korea, but when I mentioned my situation, they kindly provided me with this hearty breakfast menu! Oh my... receiving such kind service like this was truly amazing!
Actually, I wanted to try another menu because the à la carte breakfast was delicious, but unfortunately, I couldn't.
Staying at the Kimpton Mago Sydney Hotel was a satisfying experience overall (except for the view).
